I love snow.
I love weddings.
Put the two together and you have something magical.
A winter wedding with snow and candlelight!
When I woke up to see a blanket of snow six inches deep a day before Sian and Dean’s wedding, I was SO excited but, I have to admit, a little bit worried that the guests may not make it down from Wales. The thing about lots of snow is that it slows everything down. In a way, it makes you see things you would usually rush past, makes you pause and take in the view, gives you time to reflect. I love the way snow transforms everything – as if the world has been renewed with its sprinkling of whiteness.
I love the crunching sound it makes under your feet like, the fun of making snow angels, throwing snowballs and sledging on a kitchen tray down the nearest hill. There was no sledging on Sian and Dean’s wedding day although I can imagine how cool it would look if the bride arrived on a sled!
It was a truly beautiful wedding day and there was plenty of time for everything. Love, laughter and even a bit of snowball throwing.
Sian and Dean were married in the pretty St Mary’s Church, Fetcham and celebrated at The Talbot Inn, Ripley, Surrey with candlelight and dancing. In between the two we stopped at Ockham Common to walk amongst the tall pine trees dusted with snow- it was really beautiful. Yes it was really cold…minus 5!! And they had more than their love to keep them warm – wellies and blankets from the boot of the car.
As Sian is from Wales there needed to be some sort of welsh test for the groom and if you can read the writing you may want to have a go saying the longest place name in Wales as Dean does in the speeches … best of luck with that!
Sian knows it off by heart, as do I 😉
Just loved everything about this wedding – it was a blast. Thanks to all of Sian and Dean’s family and friends for making us feel part of the party 🙂
A big thank you to my lovely second shooter Heidi Veitz x
