I’m Karen and I photograph weddings and families with a natural and relaxed approach. Thank you for visiting my website and I hope you enjoy looking through my work.
It’s always difficult trying to write something about yourself but here goes…
I fell in love with photographing weddings about 6 years ago and I still get a buzz from it every single time. There is the adrenalin build up and excited nerves and the chance to get all creative, but most of all, it’s an absolute privilege to be a witness to one of the biggest days of your life so far and to create a set of photographs that will remind you of that forever.
Besides photography, if you were to ask me what puts a smile on my face, then after the obvious thing of hanging out with my gorgeous family and scatty dog, I would say exploring new places. I have travelled all over the world but still love living in London by the Thames and try to get to the coast whenever I can.
Being somewhere new and exploring cities and far off places is inspiring and refreshing, I think it allows me to come back to my own life and see it in a different way. It’s the same whenever I am by the sea…it presses my reset button.
My style is best described as a documentary, storytelling approach. There is a strong emphasis on people, emotion and connection. It’s my whole reason for doing this job. I know all too well that the value of photography comes from the memories that are brought to life. Being there to capture the rollercoaster of emotions and pure joy at one of life’s most important events means the world to me and the responses from my couples and families make it all the more special.
I work all over the UK but you’ll usually find me photographing families and weddings in and around London and the South-East to create a natural, joyful and meaningful images that will mean more to you over the years.
There are always ways to improve and refine my work so I make sure I find time to attend workshops, do personal projects and be an active member of the best photography organisations. I am a member of Fearless Photographers and the Wedding Photojournalism Association and have recently won a few awards from the WPJA. Also This is Reportage award and Photographers Keeping It Real award- all with an emphasis on documentary photography.
To offer my couples the best service, I take a limited amount of weddings each year and 2018 is almost full. If you’d like to find out more and get to know me a bit better, let’s start a conversation. Feel free to use my contact page or email me directly firstname.lastname@example.org
I look forward to hearing from you.
With lots of love, Annabelle & Tom xxxx
Your care and attention began well before the big day and was hugely appreciated by us both.
On the day itself you were simply incredible and managed to capture so many magical moments that we will treasure forever.
We will forever remember you standing in the pouring rain to get the perfect shot – we are so grateful. All our love xx
Vanessa & Steve
The end photos are simply stunning and we couldnt hope for a better set of wedding shots to remember the day.
Karen was calm, very personable, and mingled in with our guests seamlessly on the day. We booked Karen because her portfolio looked excellent and also because we wanted to work with a nice, pleasant and flexible person who would listen to us (having been bossed around by not-so-gentle photographers at other weddings!). A wedding day is so personal and so it was important for me to surround myself with nice people on the day, especially when getting ready. Karen managed to get all our photos quickly and the photography was not invasive on the day at all.
Karen also put our photos on a lovely website which is easy to use and well-put together, as well as sending us a USB stick with the photos.
Karen added a personal touch and went above and beyond in several ways for our wedding - we are very pleased we booked Karen and would highly recommend her to others.
