As most of the guests said on the day, Marion and Jamie’s London wedding was perfectly them. Laid back, warm and friendly with lots of DIY touches. It was the perfect wedding knees up.

After a ceremony at Southwark Register Office we climbed into a black cab, baby buggy and all, for the short hop to East Dulwich Tavern. Marion wore a gorgeous vintage 1950s wedding dress with a tiny perspex clutch….gotta love a vintage bag…and the bridesmaids looked very glam in sequins and tulle.

We piled into the light filled upper room of the EDT with its red walls and random collection of decor to find even more of Marion and Jamie’s friends had arrived, some from overseas. There is a painting at the EDT that stopped me in my tracks…it’s an old print of horses running across the plain. My Nan had exactly the same painting hanging in her living room and it is the only time I’ve seen one like it since my Nan died.

Aside from this little bit of random information, there is so much to share about this gorgeous wedding. Friends of Marion and Jamie, Brett and Bailey, made the fabulous cake and as Jamie runs a vinyl record shop who better to sort out the wedding tunes than his music friends. Take a look at the personalised table settings – each place name is a polaroid of an album cover of someone’s favourite band – how cool is that.

I always look forward to the speeches, hearing all the little stories about how the world contrived to get them together and bring them to this wedding day. Loads of people chipped in and again, Marion and Jamie did their London wedding, their way, by including speeches by the groom’s dad, bridesmaids and the bride herself. But despite all this, the little flower girl still managed to steal the show.

Marion wrote a lovely, unrequested review online.

“Karen was the photographer for our relaxed London pub wedding, and was the absolute ideal fit. While being calm and unobtrusive, Karen managed to capture moments and people perfectly, resulting in the most beautiful set of photographs we could imagine. The attention to detail was great, the quality astonishing and she really captured the atmosphere and our personal style. She also went out of her way to listen to our needs and paid particular attention to key parties (such as family members). Personal touches went above and beyond what we expected, and resulted in very good value indeed. I would instantly recommend Karen to anyone I knew looking for a wedding photographer. We found her by chance through a connection of a friend, and we couldn’t be happier.”

Thank you Marion and Jamie for having me along, here are some of my favourites from your fab day. xxx
